Long Valley Trail Association (LVTA)is a community group of riders and horse owners dedicated to the establishment and maintenance of a network of bridle trails and multipurpose trails throughout Washington Township and the surrounding areas in Morris County, New Jersey.

We seek to unite land owners, horse owners, and the local community to work toward our mutual goals of maintaining open space and land preservation.  Fifteen to twenty years ago this community was mostly farmland.  You can still see many old structures and fences where horse and cow farms were just a few years ago.
Now much of the area is developed.  New subdivisions have horse logos and equestrian flavored names on their entrances, but few have made provisions for bridle trails.  New Jersey is the most densely populated state in the Union and Long Valley is a very attractive community for folks looking for rural flavor within commuting distance to industrial centers or New York City.

Without conservation groups like the LVTA, even existing trails and tracts of land that have traditionally been available for riding, will be lost.  The LVTA needs the participation of the equestrian community and land owners to help us identify, establish and maintain potential as well as existing trails.

Our commitment to the community extends to supporting other local equine and non-equine related charitable organizations.  We welcome all members with similar interests and commitments, and membership is not restricted to residents of Long Valley.  Please visit our Membership page for more information on how you can get involved!
